After trying several chinrests this is the one I chose for my violin. It is comfortable for me, it looks nice and it is high quality. It is good for players who want their chin lower.

As with most people new to the violin, I bought a violin I would choose to keep for a long time and did not think twice about the chinrest. It was large, ebony black and center mounted, with a huge side extension. After reading an article about fitting a chinrest properly, I selected the Desden. It is small, contoured correctly for me, and very unobtrusive. It is side-mounted on the instrument. Made in India, it is crafted quite well, and the grain, tone and finish of the wood are very attractive as they match the color of my violin. Very Pleased!
