Master Teacher Series - Ivan Galamian - Volume 1
Highlights from these videos include Galamian's unique approach to practice methods, scale systems, and hand positions. Sounding point, bow speed, and bow pressure relationships are discussed. Special bowings such as martele, colle, spiccato, and others are examined. Galamian's logic in bowings and fingering now becomes evident through this video.
The Galamian Tapes were recorded in 1979 and 1980 at the Meadowmount School of Music, Galamian's summer school. All tapes are in full color, 55 to 60 minutes in duration. The recordings were made without rehearsal or any type of staging.
Careful study of these tapes cannot help but make each viewer more critical of his or her own methods of teaching or playing.
IG2 Volume 2: Bach: d minor Chaconne. Although most of this lesson is in French, there is no hindrance to the viewer's comprehension.
