pros: 1. It has suspension and feels very strong so I feel my daughter's violin is safe in the case. I felt like if my husband (220 lbs) could sit on the case without breaking the violin. 2. good looking case cons: 1. the straps has the hook side facing the neck, felt like it could scratch the neck of the violin. The manufacturer could have these straps reverse. 2, very heavy -- 8 lbs. Even though I read the specs before I bought it, but not until it was in our hands that we realized how heavy it is. With the backpack straps, violin, violin bow, rosin, shoulder rest, pencil, mute(s), cleaning cloth, extra strings, nail clipper, sheet music, it could easily add up to over 10 pounds. However, my daughter only carry it once a week to her lessons. 3. my daughter complained that the silk on the blanket should have matched the color of the fabric where the violin sits instead of white. :)

I purchased this case so I could use it for many years, but after only one year, the fabric started ripping around the strap holders. although the case is very beautiful, the quality is very very poor. I would never recommend this case. I have seen cases that cost much less that were built much better. I do not recommend this product, was very disappointed, especially for the price I paid.

I got this on the website sale, so the price was very reasonable. Since I didn't get to see it in person I was a little nervous. I was pleasantly surprised however when it arrived. This is a very luxurious and solidly built case! I got the black paisley interior with the brushed silver hinges and green exterior. It was so beautiful I wanted to keep it for myself! When my daughter saw what had arrived she demanded to take possession exclaiming "dad, you hardly ever play YOUR violin". I gave in and handed it over.

Upon receiving my purple case, I was impressed by how beautiful it was. It is a perfect shade of purple and has wonderful brown accents. The outside is even a nice blue-gray. However, the latch does not align properly so I have to push inwards for it close. Also, two weeks after starting to use it, the fabric near the strap holders ripped. I payed less for my old case and had it for over 5 years and it never ripped. I would not recommend it.

This case was not what I expected. It looks beautiful in the picture, but on close inspection, it turns out to be made out of cheap materials and is poorly crafted. The fabric is not soft or cushy. It feels like fuzzy paper. In addition, it is not hemmed properly inside the accessory pockets and looks as though it will unravel. The paisley pattern is printed on, not swen into, the fabric. Leather-like seems along the outside edges are plastic and don't seem like they would last long. Overall a cheap-looking product. I returned it.

Within one week the lock/latch was broken. Within 4 weeks the straps began ripping out of the fabric. Definitely not quality material on the outside.

Hello Glenda! The American Cases Company and Embassy cases are very similar in construction and durability, but the Embassy line is considered more luxurious, with aesthetically pleasing patterns, higher quality interior fabrics, and a larger variety of interior organization. The arch-top feature on these cases is designed to help deflect impact damage. Both brands are made by our manufacturing partners in China. Let us know if you have any other questions!

This case will fit a violin with a chinrest of up to 1.75 inches tall as measured from the top plate, so a Berber chinrest will fit just fine.
