When I first bought my Bam contoured case, I noticed that it really protected my violin (compared to the bobelock case I had prior that chipped the corners of my instrument.) However, I noticed that in winter (or extreme a/c which way too many buildings in the US have), my violin would be cold, even with a half wool mini blanket I made for it, covered in a silk violin bag, and a thick velvet/ silk violin blanket. Also, in summer, it'd be pretty warm. After buying the hoodie, many of these troubles have disappeared! In winter, my violin isn't cold and this past summer, I was in south east Europe where it was 90-95 degrees Fahrenheit daily with barely any air conditioning, and the violin was still okay with the hoodie!! I've also noticed that it's pretty water resistant. I'm not sure about totally water proof, but without it, I think water can seem into the case. With it, the case is pretty dry. Yes, you are able to still uses backpack straps with it. Seriously, if you own the Bam contoured case, I HIGHLY advise this item!!

Thanks for question Phoebe! The BAM hoodie is a case cover designed to be used with BAM contoured cases. The hoodie fits over your case and has openings for the d-rings where you can attach the strap of your choice. Depending on your case, this cover can be used with single or backpack straps. Hope this helps!

Hi Orlando! The violin hoodies seem to fit over the L'etoile and La Defense cases just fine. However, the viola hoodies will not fit on the La Defense, L'etoile, or Texas models.
