A wonderful compromise between size and convenience. Tried the similar carbon fibre of this and it is really TOO light - felt unsafe. This one is cushy - plenty of shock absorption. There is limited and slightly awkward storage space, but then, not adding 20lbs of "extras" to what you carry around is a good thing for your arms, shoulders and brain.

I owned one of these for sevral years, and until the zippers on both the outside pocket and the main closure wore out and turned out to be impossible to replace for less than the cost of the case it was the best case I ever owned. If it had latches instead or in addition to the zippers it would be the perfect case. Another review faults it for having storage on the back, but that's a huge plus- when you have storage on the front of the case, it inevitably falls over so the fiddle is lying top down. This case always lands so the fiddle is face up. The outside pocket storage allows you to access rosin, tuner, etc. without having to open the case to access interior storage. The shoulder strap system is very well designed, and the case standing vertically on the flat bottom end is very stable, so that while riding on a subway you can put it down on end and just keep a light grip without worrying that it will fall over. It fits superbly in overhead luggage racks on airplanes, and its shape makes it look smaller than it actually is- I was never questioned about its size when flying with it. The protection is excellent- suspension and padding are top-notch, and the interior form gripped the instrument so that it wouldn't fall out even if the neck strap wasn't fastened. Now that I've written this, I realize that it's time to buy another. I just wish they'd use latches instead of the zippers.

It's an attractive case, but not a convenient one. The inside storage compartment lacks a lid; the music storage is on the underside of the case; additional storage, cleverly captured above the violin's neck, is accessed from outside the case; no blanket is provided.
