I use this daily for practice and teaching. It can hamper vibrations on the instrument so I would recommend taking it off for performance. Also I have gone through several of these and they can loose their springyness over time, so I advise taking it off when not in use.

I bought this because I have a new violin and don't want an accident to happen when practicing some new difficult bowing technics. This gives me confidence so my heavy arm doesn't nick my new instrument. This is rubbery and easy to attach and remove. Great product!

This C Clip is just what I need to protect my violin as I sustained an injury to my right little finger years ago which causes me to not always have complete control of the bow. This will cause damage to the cornices and the C Clip protects these areas. Love it!

The clip seems to extend out past the corner of my violin by a good amount, and my violin is not on the small side. A little disappointed in the sizing because I worry that it will be easy for it to be knocked off accidentally.
