Have used this bow for years; it makes a great 2nd bow for use in the orchestra pit, or those outdoor performances, or as a practice bow, very useful to preserve the hair on your best bow. Also, I find Pernambuco bows generally to be too heavy for me, and the A. Schmidt bow I received was a better weight for me. I give it 5 stars becuase it is so useful and it has even better balance than I expected.

Hello Blanca! Yes, the 14-16.5 size bow will work for your 16.5 inch viola. Violas larger than 14 or 15 inches are considered "full size", so there is one viola bow size for a "full size" viola. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Hello Chloe! These bows average at about 70 grams, though they vary from bow to bow. If light weight is what your after, I would recommend exploring our carbon fiber or composite bow options. Both our SHAR Fusion and Presto Carbon Fiber bows would be a little more light weight than a wood bow at a similar level. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi Michael! The bow sizes refer to the corresponding instrument size. The 15-165 size is the largest and suitable for use with a 15" - 16.5" instrument. Hope this helps!
