chinrest
I have been using this chinrest since my years as a student. I couldn't find any thing else that could subtitute for this wonderful chinrest. And now most of my students are using the same.
Great chinrest
I switched to this after hating Guraneri-style chinrests for years. Being center-mounted but with enough lip to still play a little left of center, my posture and playing improved tremendously. If you hate Guarneri or feel like you're holding a neck uncomfortably when you play, try this chinrest out. I love it.
The Best!
This is, hands down, my favorite chinrest. I also tried center Flesch without hump, center Flesch with hump, SAS, and others. This Berber chinrest is my favorite. I feel like there is enough lip to offer good control, but it is never in my way, even if I move my face or violin around a bit. The only con is that it didn't quite clear my tailpiece. However, I love it enough that I couldn't bring myself to deduct a star for that issue. It is that good. I added a bit of cork to the bottom to raise it enough to clear the tailpiece. Despite it being considered a high chinrest (about 28mm at lip, 24mm in center) I could still use the height the extra cork gives me since I have a longer kneck and prefer to play without a shoulder rest. I hope this review was helpful. I highly recommend this chinrest!
