Bach, JS - Brandenburg Concerto No 3 BWV 1048 for 3rd Viola - Peters Edition
Bach's Brandenburg Concertos were forgotten in a private library until 1849, but since their publication then they've been among Bach's most renown works. The third Brandenburg Concerto in particular is very popular partly due to its instrumentation. It is orchestrated for three violins, three violas, three cellos, and basso continuo, making it a favorite of string orchestras and string quartets. In fact it is often credited with leading toward the creation of the modern string quartet.
