American Case Continental Dart Violin Case
Legendary Quality and Performance for Today's Professional
American Cases are designed from the ground up by a design team led by Charles AvSharian, notable violin teacher and American pioneer in case design and manufacture. That's why each American Case originates from a violin teacher's perspective of clarity and purpose.
In the tradition of the venerable Continental oblong violin case, the Continental Dart puts 118 years of American Case experience and knowledge to work in a smaller, lighter package. With the laboratory-certified highly arched shell design of the oblong Continental, the Continental Dart offers the most protection of any compact violin case. Durable black genuine Cordura cover, heavy gauge German-made brass hardware, German latch, and careful craftsmanship assure that each Continental stands the test of time. Like the oblong Continental, the Dart boasts unique American Case bow holders that refuse to pinch bow hair, sewn on oblong feet, a large leather carrying handle, and a subway handle with non-skid rubber grip. Interior fabric of 100% cotton velvet is available in your choice of Claret Red, or Midnight Blue, with matching blanket. For added safety, an accurate digital hygrometer and extra-long vapor bottle is installed in every Continental, as well as genuine silk at all critical points where your violin contacts the case interior. 6.2 lbs.
"I have been looking over many years for the strongest and most secure violin case in which to carry my Joseph Guarneri. I have now been introduced to the American Case Continental Dart from Shar and my search is completed. I recommend, without reservation, that this case will answer all the questions and provide players young and old with security and quality."

Great case. Very sturdy and protective for my instrument. The digital hygrometer works well. The only downside is that this case is quite heavy, and that is due to its wooden material.
Great case but could be better
Great case. Very protective. Nice materials. Quality build. The vapour bottle is a nice addition. Outside pocket doesn't hold much. My latch doesn't work, any effort and it opens. Perhaps my biggest issue though, they have a digital hydrometer, which is great, and I tested it and is very accurate. BUT it's inside a closed-off space in the inside storage compartment, so the reading is inaccurate for the violin section. I've tested this using other calibrated hydrometers and the rh% can be over 15% off from having it in the wrong section, especially when using the vapour bottle or similar. This makes the hydrometer useless unless you take it out and put it in the area around the pegbox, but no one wants that rattling around with their violin.
