Asked On: 02/18/2020

What is the difference between the Wolf Forte Secondo and Wolf Forte Primo viola shoulder rests? I have a short to no neck Does one fit lower or higher than the other?

SHAR Answer:

Hello Bonnie! The Wolf shoulder rests are typically ideal for those with longer necks, since they adjust up to 3 inches tall. They can both be adjusted down to accommodate people who don't need that height. The main difference between the two is the pad shape and angle. What works best for you is dependent on your playing style and preferences. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Asked On: 03/13/2018

Dear Shar: I saw in your earlier response to Shirley that the Wolf Secondo shoulder rest fits a viola from 7" to 9.5". My Tertis model viola has an extra wide bottom bout of almost 10". Do you think this could still fit my viola? Thank you.

SHAR Answer:

Unfortunately, it will not fit if your lower bout is larger than 9.5" wide. We carry some other models that will fit on larger pattern viola. Give us a call at 1-800-248-7427 and we would be happy to help out!

Would the wolf forte secondo fit a viola with 8 7/8" lower bout? (Some viola shoulder rests are too wide, and violin ones are too short) Thank you! Shirley Gibson

SHAR Answer:

Hi Shirley! The width of this shoulder rest can be adjusted from 7" to 9.5". Hope this helps!

Asked On: 09/07/2017

Would this fit a size 14 viola?

SHAR Answer:

Hi Duyen, thanks for your question. For a 14" viola, we recommend purchasing a full sized (4/4) violin shoulder rest. Many "viola" shoulder rest will be too large for a 14" instrument. Feel free to contact us at 1-800-248-7427 if you have any additional questions.
