I just retried a variety of pads and chinrests as I continue to find a good set up for me (I've been playing for 55 years!). The PSR shoulder pad is excellent! It is firm enough for some support, but flexible enough to allow freedom of playing. If it came with the adhesion type of the AcousticGrip, it would definitely be the Perfect Shoulder rest for me!

Was looking for a should rest for the summertime with spaghetti-strap tops. Didn't quite work for me as it's not high enough and had some difficultykeeping it from sliding around --but might work for others. Would have preferred a softer/cushier sponge material. If you buy this item recommend for an add'l 40 cents also getting a 2nd clear elastic band to help secure this item. Prefer the Bon Musica shoulder rest for non-summertime tops. Would definitely try the Acousta-Grip if had an instrument with a slick finish.

This product ended years of experimentation with shoulder rests. It's simple, very comfortable, never slips, never falls off. Really, just great (and cheap). It IS a little low--Shar also sells a higher version, though I just added some height with cosmetic sponges, and that's working out fine. This rest's not especially pretty--a black version would be nice--but otherwise, very much recommended.

This shoulder rest will work best if you are interested in cushioning for comfort and lighter support. The Belvelin is made of a denser foam and will offer more support. Any of the 3 Belvelin sizes will fit your 3/4, but for maximum support, I would recommend the Large. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Hello Derek! The PSR Perfect Shoulder Rest Original and Plus are no longer made with the dual layer - we recently updated our descriptions and images to match the current product that is being made. Unless the other websites are selling old stock, they likely have old descriptions and photos that need updating.
