I would pick this shoulder rest over a kun any day. Great price, extraordinarily comfy, and the biggest distinguishing factor between Empires and Kuns? Empires actually stay on the instrument. I am very happy with this shoulder rest- I have never once had it fall off my instrument while playing, and I've had this shoulder rest for around 2 years. That being said, one of the feet did recently break, but after several years of wear and tear I think that's a fair lifetime for the price. The foot has snapped but the rubber is still intact, so it's even still usable. This is the shoulder rest brand that I recommend for all my students.

Comfortable, but not durable. Bought these for our school program. The feet are breaking and the screws come undone and get lost easily.

Hi Jessica, Thank you for your question! A 14" viola is roughly the same size as a full size violin, so we actually suggest that you purchase a full size violin Empire shoulder rest to fit your instrument. That item number is ESR44. Click here to find the violin rest. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Hi Katherine! You can adjust the height of the shoulder rest by adjusting the screw foot to the desired height. Hope this helps!
