Used it once, and liked it a lot, took proper care, and the second time it would not stick at all. Reworked it per instructions, nada. That was a very pricey performance, not something I can afford! Gun shy about trying it again, a pity.

This is a second try at this rest. The first did not cling properly to the instrument back. One needs to take special care to keep all surfaces pristine. Otherwise, the grip falls off. It is light weight and does not interfere with the sound of the instrument, and it leaves no marks on the skin. So, the extra care with the surface is worth the trouble. The protective backing tears easily, so it is good to re-enforce the outside surface of the pealing tab with extra tape. CWN

I love the AcoustaGrip shoulder rest. I've been using it for several months now, and this is the shoulder rest I've wanted but never imagined possible. I'll never use another type of shoulder rest again.

I recently ordered this shoulder rest and I love it! It sticks to my violin pretty well unless I catch it on something. This is hands down the most comfortable shoulder rest I have ever used. I am not getting the knot near my left shoulder anymore that used to be the norm after a long rehearsal. My neck is so much more comfortable now too! My violin sounds better with this shoulder rest—it sounds like there's no shoulder rest at all! I would highly recommend this shoulder rest. If you're thinking it looks comfortable, go for it! You won't regret it.

Hi Emily! Both models have the same dimensions and microgrip technology for attachment to your instrument. The Soloist features an added layer of padding designed to increase flexibility and improve the acoustic properties of the shoulder rest.
