About This Item

Excellent student-grade light rosin for violin, viola, or cello in an easy to hold wood block!

This easy to hold wood block is ideal for beginners and comes with a protective cardboard cover. Light rosin is less sticky than dark rosin, so is sometimes preferred by those in hotter or more humid climates, or by those who simply prefer a more crisp bow articulation.

I am buying my daughter her first viola should I use the light or dark wood rosin

SHAR Answer:

Hi Duyen, thanks for your question. Most players prefer light rosin but there's also reasons to consider dark rosin. This "Choosing a Type of Rosin" video is helpful describing the differences between the two types. Also, please see our "Rosin & Rosining a Bow" guide. Hope this helps!

SHAR Answer:

Hi Deena, thank you for your question. We apologize for the description that says 'limit 2', as that is no longer the case. We'll take steps to correct that information. In the meantime, you are welcome to purchase as many as you would like. Thanks!
