I wasn't sure about a plastic stand. But we have had this stand for over a year and it is the main stand that we use for practice and taking to nursing homes, etc. It is super easy to set up and fold up, again. It is very sturdy. The only drawback that I can think of is that the backside is not smooth, so my picky about asthetics sister rejected this one as too ugly. It does not bother me at all.

I am a violinist and I absolutely love this stand. I need a good solid stand that looks professional for gigs and this stand is perfect. Assembly and disassembly are very easy and it's very compact when folded. It doesn't seem like just a travel/gig stand. In fact I'm buying another to replace my Manhasset stand at home. The Manhasset stand doesn't hold the weight of two big tablets without sinking anymore, but my Peak stand has no trouble at all.

This stand is stable, well-made and easily adjustable. Great for writing music annotations since it is so solid. I use it as my stay at home practice stand since it's pretty clunky to carry around.

Easy to assemble and disassemble, much sturdier than flimsy folding metal stands. Doesn't feel like it will tip over easily.

I like this music stand, and my child too, easy to open easy to fold, keeps notes on the stand, nice large surface for notes, works great and looks great; however, need to remember to untighten/unscrew the tilt knob before tilting to a needed angle of desk; - otherwise it has a potential of breaking screw rings.

I LOVE this music stand and just bought a second for kiddos to practice with upstairs! It's super easy to set up (takes a minute) and folds up easily into a bag to put out of the way when needed. It's very stable and can even hold a 1 1/2 inch binder full of music with room for more. Adjusts easily up and down, and doesn't easily knock over like the metal stands. The rubber feet keep from scratching my wood floors - it's the best! Can't believe how cheap it is with all the features. Terrific value.

Before getting this stand, I had a smaller metal fold-up stand and a larger non-portable orchestral stand. I wanted something that was portable but able to hold more music (something in between the two I had). This stand has been PERFECT! It is exactly what I was looking for. It is portable (including a bag to carry it in), has a large space for the music, and is easy to set up. I would certainly recommend this product!

When your 9 yr. old pulls the stand out of the bag, reads the instructions, and puts it together in less than 10minutes the first time, you know you've bought the right stand! There have been many times I wished we had a stand sooner for other events, etc. so if you are thinking about buying it, just buy it! I had no idea portable/collapsible stands were even available (I'm used to seeing the old school metal stands). This is great and it comes in a real nice bag too.

These are by far the best stands! I bought 20 of them and handed them out to my musicians so they can bring them to the gigs. I like how they are affordable and so easy to use and sturdy. Everyone always asks me where I got them and they are so surprised at how cheap they are. I strongly recommend the Peak music stand to every musician.

The concept of this stand is great. It's easy to set-up and disassemble when your done. Unfortunately, it's just as easy to break where parts connected. I ended up ordering a 5th stand because one of the first four I ordered came already broken. So far, 2 more have broken since. Not a good buy for very active musicians. These would be good for practice if you're not going to put them away so you won't risk breaking them apart when you assemble/disassemble.

I read many music stand reviews before purchasing this stand and I can whole-heartedly say that the Peak Music Stand is everything I had hoped it would be. It is easy to assemble and disassemble, light-weight and attractive. But the most important feature it offers is its excellence as a stand. It is solid -- nothing shakes this baby. I clip on a very heavy stand light and large stacks of music - everything stays as it should. I have recommend this stand to my friends, and will continue to do so.

I bought one and gave it to one of my rougher students to see how it would hold up. It has worked out very well. He brings it to school, home, and recitals. With about 6 months of use it is like it is still new. I am purchasing 6 more for students. Mobility is a big thing for us and this is much better than the wire light aluminum framed stands. Those just don't take the wear and tear well.

I needed a good travel stand that I could quickly assemble and easily carry to all of my gigs. The Peak stand was my choice and I found it to be heavy duty, easy to use, light enough to carry around, and attractive. I find it holds tons of music, even oversized books and heavy 3-ring binders. I would recommend this stand to anyone. If fact, I encourage all my musical friends to pick one up.

Hello Catherine! All of the adjustments on this music stand are controlled by a tightening mechanism at each joint. As long as you fully tighten the mechanism after it is adjusted, the stand should remain very sturdy while you write. Let us know if you have any other questions.
