I love the smooth edges of the rest itself, but the real advantage is that both height and angle are adjustable. Rather than try several different wood rests, this one allows you to change it until it feels right.

Chinrest works as advertised, comfortable, and highly adjustable, though it's worth noting that this has a similar, but not the same, shape as the Wittner chinrest that I was using before. Installation was incredibly difficult and the instructions included were confusing and useless. I recommend using this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhOCdEnd6ks) to help with any problems you might have putting all of the pieces together.

I have had several young men students get hand-made raised chinrests to accommodate their long neck. This chinrest, however, raised the height quite nicely for a student. The picture shows the rest over the tail piece but we put it in the regular position and it worked just fine. Does anyone else use it in that position?

Hi Maixuan, thank you for your question. This chinrest may actually fit as long as the 3/4 violin falls within the 32 mm – 40 mm (1.26 in. – 1.57 in.) range for the clamp. However, we'd strongly recommend item 1120F34 to be safe.

Hi Rebecca, thank you for your question! This item will likely not fit a 1/10 size violin. However, our Guarneri Mini chin rests (Item# 1127E110) will fit violins from 1/10 - 1/16 size.

Hi Chris, thanks for your question! It's not likely that the feet of this chinrest are short enough for a 1/2 size violin. You may want to consider Item# WZ258 12 instead!

Hi Joe! Yes, most cases will have no problem closing. You may need to adjust the chinrest to a lower position to fit properly in a shallow case. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
