We used this chair from the time our cellists were three until they were tall enough for a standard chair. It was sturdy, easily adjustable, and lightweight. The only drawback is that it does not fold. I would highly recommend to any parent of a young cellist.

The bench is light which makes it great when we have to bring it to recitals, group concerts, etc. However, it is not the sturdiest cello bench we have used. The height is adjusted by raising the centre column, but the screw loosens and the top of the chair begins to swivel a little bit (the height is locked in place with the pull pin). The handle is very flimsy because only 2 short screws are holding it in place. Our broken off after a couple of trips, and tightening the screws did not fix this problem (Im afraid to use a longer screw because it might go through the padding). Also the part of the support base (legs) sticks out pass the edge of the chair, it was either a quality control issue - they did not check the soldering job when attaching the chair to the centre column or it is designed this way to enhance the stability of the chair.
