About This Item

If you often carry your cello case on your back, or would like to, the SHAR Cello Case Backpack System is the best way to do it. It's strong, safe, and easy to use – simply fasten onto the D-rings on your case, adjust the length to your liking and off you go. No drilling or modification of your cello case shell is required! Best of all, your comfort level will skyrocket because the system uses professional-grade neoprene cushioning to make your cello case feel much lighter. An added feature is the back cushion, which connects separately – not only does it add even more comfort, but it offers compartments where you may stow sheet music and small accessories. NOTE: The SHAR Cello Case Backpack System works ONLY with cello cases that have a single top D-ring, or side-by-side top D-rings. It will not work with cello cases that have two separate D-rings at the top. Weight: 1.45 lbs.

PLEASE NOTE: This is the backpack system ONLY. A hard shell cello case is NOT included.

Asked On: 06/14/2021

I bought it for my daughter but there were no instructions included. How do I put it together?

SHAR Answer:

Hi Marc, thank you for your question. This item requires the cello case to have a D-ring on the upper part of the case and around the lower bouts. The clasps on the backpack system clamp onto those D-rings. If your cello case doesn't have D-rings, I don't believe the case would be compatible with this backpack system.

Question by:

  • PAUL TSENG
  • ESCONDIDO, CA

Asked On: 11/16/2018

I own a Super Light Carbon Hybrid Cello Case, which I purchased from Shar: https://www.sharmusic.com/Cases-Bags/Cello/SL-Super-Light-Carbon-Hybrid-Cello-Case.axd I'd like to know if this backpack system will work with my case. The case has 4 rubber feet on the back surface, where the backpack system would go. Will this still fit? Also, what are the dimensions of the pouch? Is this made by Jakob Winter? Thanks very much!

SHAR Answer:

Hello Paul! This backpack system is a SHAR made product and is compatible with any cello case that has the necessary D-ring attachments, which our SL Super Light cello case has. The pad/pocket is 15 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 1.5 inches thick. I hope this helps!
