Leatherwood Viola Rosin Crisp Recipe

I have used this product for one month and it is not crisp at all. I spoke with a representative at Shar and was informed that the brand is reforming the product. I don’t know what this means for the rosin recipe but this “new” rosin does not allow my bow to have a crisp or immediate articulation of the string. With a rosin this expensive, one would expect it to be as advertised. The amber color is quite light and not at all what I expected. If you are looking for a quality rosin with more bite, look elsewhere because once you spend the money, there is no returning the product due to Shar’s return policy.
I have tried this rosin from a friend and colleague with the Chicago Symphony and it was very nice but the one I bought from Shar must not be the same blend; it is not the same thing even though it is advertised as the original crisp recipe. Save your money if you want crisp. Perhaps, I may try a cello rosin instead.
