REVIEW VIDEOS

Once presented by Fritz Kreisler as the long-lost work of Rococo composer Gaetano Pugnani, the Praeludium and Allegro (along with many other works discovered” by Kreisler) was later found to be Kreisler’s own original work, scandalizing many music critics of the day! Despite its dramatic history, Praeludium and Allegro (now subtitled in the style of Pugnani”) is still among the best-loved works in the violin literature.  It is a two-part work: the opening "Praeludium" is slow and stately, while the "Allegro" contains fast fingerwork and a quasi-cadenza for the violin.

This edition for violin and piano is published by Carl Fischer.

Difficulty: A5

NOTE: This item contains the violin and piano parts only. For the Carl Fischer edition with play-along CD, please see item 1228 105.
