This book, Etudes- A Comprehensive Guide, is inteded to help develop reading and analysis skills which help in learning music quickly. Etudes is designed for the teacher or practice partner who wants a guide to develop this skill. Younger cellists will need someone to guide them through the process. Mature cellists will find this book useful to compare their etude analyses with mine. This guide presents pedagogical analyses of the study materials Tanya uses, in the order she uses them.

Tanya Lesinsky Carey is an active artist-teacher living in the Chicagoland area. She has held the positions of Assistant Principal of the Milwaukee Symphony and the Quad City Symphony, a member of the Rochester Philharmonic and Civic Orchestras, and made recordings with the Lydian Trio and Carey Consort. Currently, she is Artist-Teacher at Roosevelt University and the Academy Program of the Music Institute of Chicago.
