Beethoven, Ludwig - String Quartets Op 127, 130-133, 135 for Two Violins, Viola and Cello - Arranged by Moser - Peters Edition

This collection contains Beethoven's six late works for string quartet, including the Grosse Fuge, Op. 133. In his late period, the composer experimented with form and scale, stretching the rules and expanding melodic and harmonic material. These works were not only his last works in the string quartet medium; they were also some of the last pieces he composed before his death in 1827 - the consummation of his life's work, characterized by maturity and depth.
