From the introduction: "This book is written for the violin teacher, the violinist, and the coaching parent.
Attention to posture will definitely benefit the violinist! Motion activities require ease and flow of the body, as well as action and reaction.
Good tone and intonation are only two aspects of violin playing. Awareness of the body, how its movements relate and connect, the feel of flow, and the muscle memory necessary for repitition are so important! The more awareness of the body and its connection to the instrument, the better!
It is this teacher's delight when the student, and perhaps a coaching parent, become oriented to these details! Although each teacher might state these posture points in a different manner, it is the author's hope that the commonality will be evident.
To facilitate an understanding of each posture addressed in the text, photos are provided. At times, pictures of common playing posture pitfalls are shown to distinguish them from those portraying desired postures.
After the title of each section, I have added a suggested song or songs from the CD that relate to the specific posture being discussed.
The CD will hopefully add fun and enjoyment to lessons as well as to home practices. With most tunes, I intend to add memorable 'catch phrases' that will aid in the body and instrument placement. Upbeat sung statements can replace nagging and berating!"

    Fantastic Fiddle Form

This an excellent book for the young violinist and parent as well as teacher. It is upbeat with the games and methods that are so critical in a solid set up. There are pictures for every explanation hat help even the novice understand what to do. In addition the book comes with a CD that a nice addition for children to listen to, even the non musician toddler dances to the CD. This is a must have to every early violinist repertoire. ... Fun and Catchy

My kids struggle to maintain the correct violin position, and listening to this CD makes our efforts to improve much more positive and fun. Now there is laughing instead of crying. I wish hat I had this when they were younger, but even my 9-year-old loves the tunes. The photos are helpful, too. ... (See Full Review)
