Today's production is based on computer-aided machines for precision manufacturing. In former times sheep gut was the sole raw material available, but now state-of-the-art synthetics and various steel and non-steel strands, such as gold, tungsten, silver or titanium are used.

Our research and development technicians work closely together with professional musicians in each stage of the development of our strings. Sophisticated research and development and quality control ensure PIRASTRO strings set an industry standard.

Musicians can choose from the most comprehensive string selection available, which offers gut strings such as Oliv, Eudoxa or Chorda, synthetic strings like Evah Pirazzi, Obligato or Tonica and steel strings such as Permanent, Flexocor or Chromcor.

Unopened strings may be returned within 30 days, so that we may supply all our customers with the freshest possible strings. Because of tonal qualities of each instrument are unique, we cannot accept string returns for reasons of tone, including false strings.

    I'm Passionate about Passione

    These are truly something else. I've used Evah Pirazzi for the past few years with some success, and tried these mainly out of curiosity. I struggled for some time with an overly strident ound, and my constant frustration was my inability to play softly without losing core. For this I blamed myself. Moreover, the high tension of the Evahs made them difficult to play, but I feared changing to something lighter would make my already dark instrument too dark. The Passiones have fixed everything — even the other problems I didn't realize I had. Their low tension makes them easy to play, and have an astounding range of color. They are very easy to control, even at the softest dynamics, and stay in tune remarkably well. Their sound is mellow, but not overly dark. They are wonderfully well-balanced over the set, and acheive a consistently beautiful tone no matter the sounding point or dynamic. My praise could go on and on. I'm now on my second set and I couldn't be happier. These strings have revitalized my instrument and my playing. Just talking to others about them gets me all emotional — which is ridiculous; I know they're just strings — yet somehow they deserve it. Buy them.
