"The Mozart 3rd violin concerto was the first piece I ever played that made me feel like an advanced player. It's a piece that really responds to the skill of the performer. The more you give to it, the brighter and more complex the concerto's exuberant themes can sound. I love it." - Catherine Portis, Violin, 2006 Shar Apprentice

This piece has a special place in my heart

I have been playing this for about 2 1/2 years now. At first I hated it - I'm a rough, minor-key fiddler - but now I love it. I'm hoping to win a concerto contest with it come October. It's challenge to play just right, but when you do get it, it becomes "your" piece. When you first try to learn it, you feel that it's mastered you, but eventually you'll have it, and then you realise that you are it's master. You can make this concerto do whatever you want - you can make your violin do what you want! And then you come back down to earth and realise how far you have to go. I highly recommend this piece! It was written by a master and it's a masterpiece! ... (See Full Review)
