Once presented by Fritz Kreisler as the long-lost work of Baroque composer Gaetano Pugnani, the  Praeludium and Allegro (along with many other works “discovered” by Kreisler) was later found to be Kreisler’s own original work, scandalizing many music critics of the day! Despite its dramatic history, Praeludium and Allegro (now subtitled “in the style of Pugnani”) is still among the best-loved works in the violin literature.  Now violists can enjoy it, too!

This edition has been transcribed for viola and piano by Alan Arnold.  Published by Viola World Publications.

Difficulty: A5
