The String Quartet No. 3 by Béla Bartók is the shortest of his six quartets, typically lasting only about 15 minutes. It is significant in its experimental nature as well, incorporating several extended techniques the composer would become known for, including the "Bartók pizzicato," in which the string is plucked upward with such force that the rebounding string makes contact with the wood of the fingerboard, causing a snapping sound. Dedicated to the Musical Society Fund of Philadelphia, the work was premiered in 1929.

This edition contains parts for two violins, viola, and cello (no score). Published by Boosey & Hawkes.
