Written as a companion to the popular book for violin, The American Fiddle Method, Volume 1 is now available for cello!  Collaborators Brian Wicklund and Faith Farr have arranged the tunes in the violin book for cello - not simply transposing them - to keep them in playable ranges and keys for cello players.  The method covers ensemble skills, basic music theory, variations and improvisation, backup and lead playing, and more.  Can be used in conjunction with the violin and/or viola books, enabling players to "jam" together!  Included in the set is a CD for listening and play-along.

Volume 1 is geared toward beginning and intermediate-level players.

Contains a cello book and a CD.  Published and Mel Bay.

    Great fiddle book

    This is a great book for anyone interested in playing fiddle for the first time. The lyrics were a bonus for sing-a-long. The added chords were great for guitar (or benjo) accompaniment. ... (See Full Review)
