Recommended for Beginners on a budget. The Prelude is made with higher quality tonewood that will allow Beginners to advance further on their musical journey before trading up to another instrument.

Hand made by skilled artisans from aged maple and spruce tonewoods. Enhanced arching gives a warmer and more powerful sound; careful varnish application gives a clean and precise look that brings out the beauty of the wood; better quality pegs allow your young student to master the intricacies of tuning. In every way, our Prelude will exceed your expectations for a beginner's instrument - it will delight both parents and teachers and inspire your young student. Set-up with Overture Premium strings. Outfit includes KVB Brazilwood bow, rosin and TC66 shaped case. Made in China, inspected in our Ann Arbor workshop. Available in 4/4 - 1/32 sizes.

    Great Price - Nice Sound!

    I wished I had bought this violin sooner instead of renting from the local shop! Rental fees w/service add up and after 12 months we had already spent more renting than if we had purchased. The look, feel, weight, and sound of this violin is so much better than our rental. If you rent more than 6 months, and you know your child wants to continue playing, then BUY immediately from Shar. My 9 year old plays it, and she was impressed and so was her instructor. GREAT BUY, and very light weight compared to the rental. We've only had the violin since 3/2013 so I can't speak to the previous reviewers comments about the quality of the bow. It is also much easier to tune than the rental. Quality can't be beat! ...     Good Violin, Cheap Bow

    Violin sounds nice, but the made in China bow is cheap and is of poor quality. I had to replace the bow because it broke within a year of purchase. The 1/2 size Fanz Hoffmann violin bow which bought about 3 years ago was also the same. I had to replace it twice in one year. Outfit comes with a one year warranty, although I had to pay for shipping the broken bow. ... (See Full Review)

50% - credit of the original purchase for Hoffmann instruments and outfits.

100% - credit of the original purchase price for better quality instruments (Carlo Lamberti, Otto Ernst Fischer, Karl Joseph Schneider, John Cheng Workshop, Collector's Series, and those from our Fine Instrument Collection).

There will be NO refurbishment fee deducted for normal wear and tear. A depreciation fee will only be deducted if the instrument has had serious damage (cracks, etc.).
