An excellent student viola, forgivingly playable, with a warmer sound. Hand made by skilled artisans in Romania, from aged maple and spruce tonewoods harvested locally in the Carpathian Mountains. Attention to detail shows in the carefully applied varnish that brings out the beauty of the wood, and in the better quality pegs that turn easily and allow a student to focus on learning to tune rather than fighting poorly fitting pegs. We believe our Franz Hoffmann Prelude will exceed your expectations for a beginner's instrument - delighting players, parents and teachers. Outfit includes KVOB brazilwood and horsehair bow, rosin and TAC66 shaped case. Available in 12", 13", 14", 15", 15 1/2", 16" and 16 1/2" sizes.

Whether it is from a 1/4 size to a 1/2 size or from an advanced instrument to a professional instrument, we offer you a generous trade-in credit for your current instrument.

50% - credit of the original purchase for Hoffmann instruments and outfits.

100% - credit of the original purchase price for better quality instruments (Carlo Lamberti, Otto Ernst Fischer, Karl Joseph Schneider, John Cheng Workshop, Collector's Series, and those from our Fine Instrument Collection).

There will be NO refurbishment fee deducted for normal wear and tear. A depreciation fee will only be deducted if the instrument has had serious damage (cracks, etc.).
