    could've been better...

This Shar "MetroTone" Digital Metronome has all the features I'd hoped for, but the one thing that bothers me quite a bit is how it's too easy to turn on by accident: I had the metronome in n my violin case and while I was driving my case shifted and the metronome turned on and began clicking. This has happened in various contexts a few times now. Before I took the metronome on the plane with me I was sure to remove the battery. Now that's ridiculous, so I'm going to be leaving this one at home in the future. It's also a little annoying how I have to press the same button in order to toggle between functions. To clarify an earlier review on this product, there is no "tuner" on this metronome, but there is a pitch generator which has a good range. Unlike other reviewers for this product, the wheel (tempo/pitch adjuster) works fine, but it's a little too big and awkward to turn. This could've been a great product at a great value if a little more thought had been put into its design, but the way it is now it's just so-so, more like 2.5 stars. ... (See Full Review)

    Great

This metronome is my first one, and, call it beginners luck, I wouldnt say I made a mistake. It isnt difficult to turn. The reason it may take so long for others is because of the one-bpm incraments. f you turn it fast enough, though, you should be able to make a large change in tempo easily. All the way from 30 to 250 bpm, it doesnt skip once. Great for pieces with a specified tempo like 144 bpm rather than allegro. The chromatic tuner isnt the best, but whos going to use it anyway? ...
