Made from an innovative new resin-reinforced foam that is rigid but soft, strong but light, this case offers protection from the most common mishaps, such as falling over and sharp blows. Working with a well-known virtuoso cellist and teacher, we have made a number of important improvements: Smoothly gliding wheels, fully enclosed case bottom (endpin stays in the case), large, strong and soft carry handle, extra handles for easy maneuverability, soft and effective backstraps with secure carabiner latches, neck restraint buckle and large interior accessory compartment.     good alternative - but try on for size

    I love the idea behind this case, and is perfect for students. I have 2 students that have bought this 4/4 case when they were in a 3/4 size. The sales people (not from Shar) said that since t was a 4/4 size, when they upgraded to a 4/4 cello, then they could use this case. True, but all celli vary slightly. One of these students has now upgraded to a 4/4 cello. The case was slightly too small around the bridge area. He is able to work around it, but always having to be very careful as he closes the case to make sure it it exactly aligned around the bridge. If not, his bridge gets completely knocked and shifted to the side next time he opens the case. This is a good case, but my advice is to size your case with your instrument. ... (See Full Review)
