Our Karl Joseph Schneider® Stradivari is made especially for SHAR by our partner workshop in Germany. Fine craftsmanship, aged tonewoods, lightly-anitqued but traditional varnish and close attention to detail make the Schneider® Stradivari unmistakably German. But we wanted a more aggressive sound, dark but with focus, projection and articulation, for the creative violinist who often plays a wide variety of musical styles. The moment you draw your bow across the strings, you'll see immediately that the Schneider® Stradivari delivers on this promise. 4/4 size.

    Great value; warm tone

I upgraded to this violin from the $1000 Carlo Lamberti Classic after trying out a variety of Shar violins through my teacher. I wasn't intending to upgrade at the time, but I ended up doing o when I realized that one of my favorites out of the bunch was only $250 more than the instrument I was using at the time. (Hooray for Shar's trade in program!) In the blind test, this one was my favorite instrument in the <2K price range (I only liked the Ming-Jiang Zhu Artist and the John Cheng Guaneri more, but they were considerably more expensive). The tone is definitely warm, and the sound was smoother than the Classic. During the blind testing, I liked sound immediately, and didn't detect the nasal quality that I found when playing high on the Classic. This violin really takes well to Obligato strings, and I felt that the improvement of sound once I put the Obligatos (with a steel E) into this instrument was greater than when I put them on the Classic. I'm incredibly pleased with this violin and its warmth! ... (See Full Review)

    A nice violin

I received this on a home trial with one that is half the price. It certainly is nice. The tone is higher than the one I tried. But at least with this there was a screech on the E string hile playing in the first position. ... (See Full Review)
