With the professional features and build quality of the Manhattan Violin Case, our new dart-shaped Manhattan Compact Adjustable Viola Case is the case every violist has been waiting for! Deep and strong laminated wood shell construction is the starting point for every Manhattan case. Solid American Case features, not found in lesser brands, abound: large, heavy D-rings, subway handle with rubber grip, special smooth-touch bow holders, jumbo vapor bottle, oversize leather handle, shoulder rest restraint and hidden string tube. Includes viola bag and blanket and a pair of shoulder straps. Will accommodate violas sized 15" to 16.5" (Tertis patterns up to 15.5") and two bows.     good non-bulky viola case

    This case had all the features I wanted: wood shell, adjustable, string tube, shoulder rest velcro strap. The wood shell flexes some when pushed from the side, but that's probably a compromise etween strength and weight. It still seems reasonably sturdy. The main reason I didn't rate this case 5 stars is that the suspension cushion at the base of the instrument is just a 1/4 inch strip of foam/cardboard, not enough to lift the back of the instrument away from the case. For a case advertising "suspension," this is pretty minimal. By comparison, I have a 15-year-old American Case Company Continental violin case which has a sturdier wood shell and nice deep suspension cushions. It may just be a case of "they don't make 'em like they used to." Overall a good value, compact, and not too heavy. ... (See Full Review)
