About This Item

Although today The Four Seasons tend to overshadow Vivaldi's other violin concerti, he did write many others, including a collection called L'estro Armonico (roughly translated as "Harmonic Inspiration"), Op. 3. This set of twelve concerti includes not just works for solo violin and orchestra, but also works for two, three, and four violins as well. Partially because of this varied instrumentation, they are generally classified as concerti grossi. The Concerto in E Major, RV 265 is the twelfth in the set, and hints at Vivaldi's own virtuosity on the violin. This edition for solo violin with piano reduction is edited by Kuchler-Wittenbecher. It also includes a play-along MusicPartner CD. Published by Edition Peters.
