Songs for Little Players Book 2
As a violin teacher of 10 years who has used a lot of books with students, I highly recommend this book. It has very big notes which is excellent for young children just learning to read. It has 15 pieces, some familiar and some not. It does have Camptown Races, Alouette, The Farmer in the Dell, Old McDonald, Pop goes the weasel, Shortnin Bread, Happy Birthday, Mulberry Bush, Row Row Row your Boat along with pieces Evelyn Avsharian composed. This book introduces slurs, dotted half notes, eighth notes, 6/8 time and more string crossings. The pieces are 8 measures long. My daughter is in Songs For Little Players Book 1 and loves it. She learns the songs quickly and they have nice melodies. I cant wait until shes in Book 2!
