Winning Rhythms isa great rhythm-drilling tool for beginning to intermediate players of anyinstrument.  Edward Ayola’s flexibleformat allows students at various levels of proficiency to use the book totheir benefit.  Beginning students, forexample, can simply clap or tap the rhythms, while more advanced students mayadditionally play the rhythms on the notes of a scale. 

The book begins with exercises in simplemeter (4/4, 2/4, etc) and gradually moves into compound meter (6/8, etc),complex meter (5/4, etc), and mixed meters. 

NOTE: this book is notinstrument-specific.  It can be used byviolinists or trombonists (and anyone in between) with equal success!
