Question By:
IGNACIO CUELLO
From MORGANTOWN, WV

Asked On: 10/08/2016

Hello, I am interested in purchasing the Stamitz Viola Concerto in D Major. The main purpose of this purchase is to obtain the cadenza written by Zunzelmann, which I believe it was transcribed by Franz Beyer. I found an article that contain that specific score, but I am not sure if that is the Cadenza that I am looking for. The cadenza of the first movement starts with the same theme of the viola solo, at the beginning of the concerto, and it develops from there. I am sorry if this question is a bit difficult to answer, but I used to play that cadenza, and I lost my copy. Thank you very much, Ignacio

SHAR Answer:

Hi Ignacio! This edition includes the cadenza by Clemens Meyer. If you are looking for the cadenza written by Kunzelmann, we suggest the taking a look at the Franz Beyer - Candenzas for the Viola Concerti of Stamitz, Zelter, and Hoffmeister. Hope this helps!
