About This Item

Luise Adolpha Le Beau was a female German composer and performer, born in 1850. Her Sonate, Opus 17 is a wonderful composition that has been largely overlooked due to the prejudices against women that were prevalent during Le Beau's lifetime. Le Beau's characteristic strong, striking style and strict adherence to form are evident in this sonata, which starts very classically before giving way to more romantic styling as the piece progresses.

For Cello and Piano. Published by Hildegard Publishing Company.
