About This Brand

We are pleased and excited to introduce masterful violins and violas from Beijing luthier, Wang Zhiming. A third generation luthier, Mr. Wang has been making violins for 40 years, with his father being his first teacher. After studying at China’s famed Central Conservatory of Music, training as both a violinist and violin maker, Mr. Wang spent several years performing in the China Philharmonic. Fifteen years ago, he dedicated himself solely to making violin family instruments. As a result of further training in Cremona, Wang Zhiming’s violins have a distinctly Italian flavor, perfectly and elegantly crafted, and finished with a distinct, hand-applied varnish with warm hues. Mr. Wang’s violins and violas posses a rich tone, with layers of tonal colors, and with an uncommonly smooth, seamless balance, in the Italian style.
