Easily worth the price

Shopped a number of different cellos before buying this one. I should comment that although this is a beginners cello I am not completely naive as to what makes a decent instrument being an (amateur) violin player myself, my husband is an (amateur) violin player, and we already have one cello player in the family, so have some background on which to judge this instrument. I think the quality of this cello is incredible for the price. It looks in person better than the photos, plays as well as the eastman vc100 we also have which cost 3 times the price and the eastman is well broken in. I have also bought hoffman violins in the past and found them great intro instruments which lasted and improved and as most well-made instruments improve with time, the hoffman may in the end exceed the eastman in quality. Without doubt will get anyone playing on a decent instrument and will carry you through several years of playing before considering upgrading.

A worthy cello for any student

I purchased this cello after searching for over 4 months for the right one. I found out about Shar googling for cellos and it was the greatest site I could have come across. This cello is perfect for my needs and my teacher was extremely impressed with the quality of the instrument and the quality of sound that it produces. This has been one of the smartest purchases I have ever made. I have called Shar asking numerous questions, being that I am a first time string player. Every time I have called I have spoken with an actual string player, not a sales rep! Not only were they helpful every time, but they were patient with me and helped me with every question. One person even helped guide me through tuning my instrument! The level of dedication and service by the staff and the quality of the instrument are enough to make me a Shar customer for life. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a student cello. Also, I was told to expect 5-10 business days for shipping when I purchased this cello. I live out of state but received my cello the very next day! Just another reason to be impressed with this awesome company and service.

I am thrilled with my Student cello. I waited and waited to get get a barely-played trade-in cello to save a little money. I wish I had just bought a new one months ago - I'd already be playing! It came perfectly packed, in a timely manner, and only needed tuning up out of the box and I was up and playing. Shar is the best.

I am in love with my cello!

I have been using my Karl Joseph Schneider Master Art Cello for several months now, and I could not be more happy. I decided I needed a new cello because I was tired of renting, and I was having trouble finding one locally, so I decided to give Shar's in-home trial a try, and I'm happy to say it worked out. My cello absolutely sings (when it's played properly), and it is a huge step up from the old rental instruments I was used to. Wolf tones are very few and far between, and the A string is so much more well behaved than I am used to. It is a playable, serviceable instrument, that I hope to own and play for years to come. And if I ever feel like upgrading, I can always trade it in to Shar for 100% of it's value! Awesome deal. Lastly, the aesthetics of the instrument are beautiful. It is extremely well crafted, and the finish is gorgeous. It's not a "spray tan" red-orangey finish, but a very tasteful, natural looking finish that brings out the natural grain of the wood very nicely. It does have a plastic tailpiece, which is a little disappointing, considering the price, but it doesn't affect the sound at all, it just would have been a nice touch to include a real wooden tailpiece. This is just a minor complaint that I have, it's certainly not a deal-breaker. If I ever desire a wooden tailpiece, I'm sure Shar would be able to fix me up with a nice one. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality of service and product I've received from Shar, and the Schneider Master Art Cello is an absolute beauty that I'm sure will be my musical companion for years to come. I would also like to thank Mike from the Shar Violin Shop, as he was very helpful and accommodating. Shar is the best!

A friend recommended sharmusic.com to me when I was shopping for a new cello, and I couldn't be more delighted with my purchase of this cello, and with the helpful recommendations for an appropriate bow and case I received during my telephone order. This cello has a rich, deep tone and arrived carefully packed and beautifully set up with quality strings. I'm quite thrilled with my new cello, and completely satisfied with my experience with SharMusic.

A Real Bargain

I have been playing cello for over twenty years, and I play in a community orchestra. I purchased this cello over 5 years ago and have been very pleased with the quality of it. While this cello may not satisfy a professional or a college music major, it is an excellent choice for a student or amateur who wants a quality instrument without breaking the bank. The instrument has a deep, resonant sound. I have found that the Jargar A string coupled with perlon core D,G,C strings produces a great sound.

Very good starter cello

We have the 1/10 size cello for more than 2 years and we continue to receive very positive comments from our teacher on the sound (better than an 1/8 Eastman VC100 we moved up to). In addition, this cello has a bigger sound than one would expect from its small size. We did change the strings and put 1/8 Helicore on the 1/10 (it works). This particular cello sounded so good that another teacher who was tuning celli before a concert, made an effort to look at the label! We are very happy with this cello.
