Question By:
MARY LOU CZESCIK
From N. CAPE MAY, NJ

Asked On: 08/30/2016

I just bought a new bridge. Does it have to be notched and installed by a professional or can I do it myself?

SHAR Answer:

Good question, Mary! Bridges should ONLY ever be cut, shaped, and installed by a luthier trained in fitting bridges. It is a very involved and intricate process that could damage your instrument if not done properly. There are likely luthiers in your area that you could bring the bridge to for fitting to the instrument.
