I ordered this as I always have a few tall men amongst my students. The height is great but each moving part is controlled by a plastic device. I know from experience that the plastic parts are not going to last as long as the metal, so was disappointed to see that. Then I discovered that the desk will not keep its angle when I put music on it, as the mechanism to hold it in place doesn't seem to tighten enough. So it flops to the vertical and the music falls on the floor. I have now rigged it with cardboard and may add some duct tape, but it is definitely not slick. And then when the first student of the day arrived, the desk started to sink downwards under the weight of a single Suzuki book. I'll have to break out another whole roll of duct tape. So, the price is right, and I probably won't return it as it is large and shipping expensive, but I'm disappointed and sorry it doesn't have all metal controls and tighter joints. I really like things to last - I still use a Hamilton that I got in the mid-70s - it's still the best of all my stands! However, I guess you get what you pay for, and the price is extremely modest on this item.
