About This Item

This Latin-flavored CD features tango favorites and other Latin-inspired material. Latigo, along with guest percussionist John Santos, was awarded two Grammy nominations.

Jeremy Cohen's electrifying jazz violin performances have earned him nationwide accolades. Classically-trained and a student of Itzack Perlman and Anne Crowden, Jeremy's eclectic style reflects his respect for a wide range of violinists from Perlman and Fritz Kreisler to Joe Venuti and Eddie South. As founding member of the Grammy-nominated Quartet San Fransisco, Jeremy's musical range is broad - jazz, tango, pop, funk, blues, bluegrass, gypsy swing, big band and beyond.

Equally at home as a composer, Jeremy's arrangements of classic jazz and tango works for string quartet are masterful interpretations, offering any string quartet rewarding challenges, both technically and musically. As Jeremy himself explained it at the closing concert of the 2010 ASTA conference, great music, regardless of its genre, deserves the highest level of attention, practice and rehearsal. When approaching a new work, Jeremy and the Quartet San Fransisco treat it at the same level of artitstic and technical commitment as Mozart or Brahms.
